Cats to meet Bombers under Friday night lights

A blockbuster Friday night match-up with fellow finals hopefuls Essendon highlights Geelong’s fixture for the final third of the AFL season.

Rounds 17-23 have been confirmed, with the clash with the Bombers in Round 22 (Friday, August 8) the standout.

The Cats’ remaining home games against Richmond, St Kilda, and Port Adelaide have been scheduled as Saturday twilight, Sunday early and Sunday afternoon, respectively.

CATS TO MAKE CALL ON FOUR

Despite the GWS Giants requesting a Friday night match-up with Geelong in the return meeting between the two clubs in Round 18, that has been fixtured in the Saturday twilight timeslot at Engie Stadium.

Geelong will travel to Sydney for the second consecutive year for an afternoon match in Round 23.

The AFL will announce the day and time for the Cats’ final round meeting with the Tigers at the MCG closer to the date.
