RUCKMAN Darcy Fort has taken out the Geelong VFL best-and-fairest.

Fort, who failed to make an AFL appearance in 2021, finished on 102 votes to claim the award, which is unofficially known as the Vic Fuller Medal, nine clear of midfielder Oscar Brownless on 93.

Charlie Constable was a vote further back in third on 92, while Darcy Lang (86) and Jackson McLachlan (81) rounded out the top five.

Fort, who is contracted for 2022, has been linked with a move to Brisbane.

Interestingly, each of the nine players who featured in all nine home-and-away matches finished in the top 10.

2020 AFL draftee Nick Stevens, who appeared in eight games, finished ninth on 65 votes.

Last week, Claudia Gunjaca was named winner of Geelong’s VFLW best-and-fairest.
