Geelong has lost its Round 10 clash to Fremantle with a strong performance from the Dockers midfield leading them to the 29-point in Perth on Saturday night.
Freo young guns Andrew Brayshaw and Caleb Serong gathered 33 and 28 disposals respectively, while no Cats player had more than 20 touches in the 16.10 (106) to 11.11 (77) loss.
Cats star Tom Atkins says coach Chris Scott has already a list of what the players need to work on this week.
“Similar to the Richmond game, we’re still very optimistic we can turn things around,” he said.
Tom said the squad was aware the Dockers had more possessions.
“As soon as they got their hands on the ball, they were splitting it, keeping it alive.
“At times, as midfielders, we were probably just a metre off that release of the handball.
“It’s something we need to work on – we knew that going in.”
