The door remains ajar for Rhys Stanley to return from a hamstring issue for Geelong’s preliminary final match-up with Hawthorn.
The veteran ruck, who missed the Cats’ qualifying final win over the Brisbane Lions after suffering an injury at training the week of the game, is listed as a test.
His absence left the versatile Mark Blicavs and key defender Sam De Koning to shoulder the ruck load against Lion Darcy Fort.
“Rhys has reintegrated into training over the past week,” football boss Andrew Mackie said.
“We will continue to assess his progress over the next two days and expect to have a clearer indication of his availability as the week unfolds.”
The Cats face the Hawks on Friday night, with first bounce at 7:40pm.
