Experienced defender Jake Kolodjashnij will play his first game since Geelong’s Community Series meeting with Essendon when the Cats face the Bombers in the VFL next week.
Kolodjashnij, who has been sidelined with ongoing groin issues, which required minor surgery last month, will mark his 30th birthday alongside fellow 2022 premiership stars Cam Guthrie and Mitch Duncan.
He is expected to play managed minutes.
The luckless Guthrie will make a last-ditch bid to play his first AFL game of the season after overcoming a recurring calf issue.
Geelong has been conservative with the two-time Carji Greeves medallist.
Duncan will make his return following surgery on an AC joint injury suffered in the VFL early last month.
Forward Ollie Henry has entered the concussion protocol after an incident in Geelong’s after-the-siren VFL win over North Melbourne on Sunday.
