DEFENDER Jake Kolodjashnij has been managed out of the Geelong team for the Easter Monday clash with Hawthorn.

The 26-year-old’s spot has been taken by the returning Tom Stewart after the best-and-fairest missed last week’s 10-point win over the Brisbane Lions after suffering a bout of gastro.

Captain Joel Selwood is also back and fills the position left vacant by an ankle injury suffered by young midfielder Quinton Narkle.

Kolodjashnij, Esava Ratugolea, Shaun Higgins and Zach Guthrie are the four emergencies.

However, coach Chris Scott did make the point at his media conference on Friday that the submitted team will take to the MCG.

“No one should make the assumption that when we lodge our team, that’s the team that’s going to play,” he said.

“It’s got virtually nothing to do with gamesmanship or tactical issues, and virtually everything to do with the fact that we need to lodge a team but we’re not certain as to what that’s going to be.”

Guthrie, who was the medi-sub last week, is unlikely to have the role on Monday after featuring in Geelong’s VFL loss to Southport on Thursday night.

Hawthorn has settled on three changes, including recalling premiership player Liam Shiels and dropping 2019 best-and fairest James Worpel.
