IF Geelong is to cause a massive upset in Sunday’s AFL Women’s preliminary final clash with Adelaide it is going to have to do it without star forward Phoebe McWilliams.

The Cats have confirmed the 33-year-old will undergo surgery on Wednesday after suffering a broken hand in last week’s loss to the GWS Giants in Canberra.

The break, on the same hand in which the former Giant dislocated two fingers a fortnight prior, happened during a final quarter marking contest.

Geelong hasn’t ruled out McWilliams being available if it can get past the Crows at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
