SAM Menegola will play his first game in two months after being named in Geelong’s VFL team for its clash with Footscray on Friday afternoon.

The experienced midfielder hasn’t taken to the field since April 2, when he suffered a concussion at VFL level against Collingwood.

However, it’s been soreness in the knee he underwent off-season surgery on that has kept him sidelined since.

VFL: CATS LIGHT UP

Less than 48 hours after hearing his name called in the mid-season draft, Zane Williams will pull on the Hoops for the first time.

Williams and Menegola are among five AFL-listed inclusions, with big man Shannon Neale and small forward Francis Evans dropped from the senior team.

Quinton Narkle, the medi-sub at AFL level last week, could also be running around at Whitten Oval.

Geelong could field up to eight AFL-listed players. One of Neale, Narkle, Luke Dahlhaus or Mitch Knevitt will be the medi-sub for the clash with the Bulldogs at senior level.
