Mark O’Connor will fall just short of playing every home-and-away game in a season for the first time in his career after being ruled out of Geelong’s final round clash with Richmond at the MCG.
The Irishman is one of six Cats to have featured in the first 22 matches of 2025, but has been withdrawn from the team with what the club has labelled a leg concern.
Geelong had previously replaced the suspended Shannon Neale with Jed Bews.
Midfielder Mitch Knevitt has been recalled for his second game in three weeks after not appearing at AFL level since Easter Monday.
George Stevens has been added to the Cats’ emergency list, joining Jhye Clark and Ted Clohesy.
