Geelong fans won’t get the chance to see the club’s VFL team play before its AFL side at GMHBA Stadium again this season.

Following the release of the AFL fixture for rounds 16-23, the VFL and VFLW schedules have been updated for late June onwards.

The Cats, who sit 16th on the ladder with a 3-6 win-loss record, have VFL clashes at GMHBA Stadium against Richmond and Essendon scheduled on the same weekends as the AFL team takes on the Tigers and Bombers.

However, on both occasions, the VFL match will be played the day after.

A curtain raiser between Geelong and the GWS Giants will be played before the AFL clash at Engie Stadium on July 12.

The Cats have been handed a prime-time Saturday night free-to-air television fixture against Collingwood under lights at Whitten Oval.

Meanwhile, Geelong’s winless VFLW team will round out its season with a home game at Queens Park in Highton on Sunday, August 3.
