If Geelong is to break through for its first win of the AFLW season in Saturday’s clash with Gold Coast, it will have to do so without Georgie Prespakis.
A quad injury will keep the gun midfielder sidelined for another game after she missed last week’s loss to Carlton.
Prespakis also missed the practice match against Essendon with a similar issue but featured in the opening two games against Melbourne and North Melbourne.
The Cats hope she will be right for next week’s GMHBA Stadium clash with Hawthorn.
“Georgie is recovering from a quad strain and will unfortunately miss this week,” assistant football boss Brett Johnson said.
“She is training well, and we expect her to be available to play against the Hawks next Thursday night.”
Geelong says star forward Chloe Scheer remains on track for a return from a toe issue in the second half of the season.
However, pre-season signing Lily Pearce is facing 12 months on the sideline after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament at training last week.
