Rising Star nod for ‘Chook’

THE impressive start to season 2019 of Geelong midfielder Charlie Constable has earned him the AFL’s Rising Star nomination for Round 2.

Constable racked up 31 possessions (13 contested), laid four tackles and kicked a goal in the Cats’ 80-point hiding of Melbourne at GMHBA Stadium.

The previous week against Collingwood, he had 21 possessions and kicked a goal on debut.

Drafted with pick No.36 in the 2017 National Draft, Constable was an emergency on five occasions in the first half of the 2018 season before a concussion put him on the back foot.

However, he was still able to post a top 10 finish in Geelong’s VFL best-and-fairest.
