GEELONG will chase seven consecutive wins for the first time in its short VFLW history when it travels to Sandringham on Saturday for a clash with the Southern Saints.

After sitting fifth on the ladder with a 2-2 win-loss record following their Round 4 loss to Port Melbourne, the Cats are now second, having strung together six wins by an average margin of 37 points.

The meeting with the Saints is the second between the two clubs in 2021, with Geelong winning the previous encounter, played in wet and windy conditions, by eight points in Round 3 at Deakin Uni.

A win at Trevor Barker Beach Oval will keep it in contention to finish second and claim the double-chance in the top-six finals system.

The Cats have included AFLW quartet Olivia Barber, Georgia Clarke, Darcy Moloney and Laura Gardiner and delisted forward Maddy Boyd.

They’ve also named GWV Rebels NAB League star Chloe Leonard for her VFLW debut.

Going out of the team that had the better of Essendon last week are Jess Foley, Amy McDonald, Rene Caris, Stephanie Williams, Maddy Keryk and Natalie French.
