COOPER Stephens was due to undergo scans on Saturday night after suffering an ankle injury in Geelong’s VFL practice match loss to Coburg.

Cats coach Shane O’Bree says the uncapped midfielder suffered the injury in a tackle during the clash at Deakin Uni.

“Cooper had the ball and he just tried to twist out of it when he was getting tackled,” O’Bree told K rock Football.

“The leg was planted, so we were a little bit worried about it. So, we’ll just get scans and take it from there and see how it is.

“But it doesn’t look too good at this stage.”
