Geelong has named its most experienced AFLW player in the squad for Sunday’s elimination final meeting with Essendon.
After being a late withdrawal from the final-round win over Hawthorn with a hamstring issue, Shelley Scott is among the players included in the Cats’ squad for the clash with the Bombers.
Geelong has also named Mel Bragg, Abbey McDonald and Brooke Plummer on its extended bench.
AFLW: SIDELINE LESSONS FOR WEBSTER
Former Melbourne captain Scott, who has played 64 AFLW games, is the most likely replacement for suspended big Kate Darby.
Darby failed to beat a rough conduct charge following an incident with Hawks young gun Jasmine Fleming at the AFLW Tribunal after challenging the Match Review’s offer of a one-week ban.
Geelong will finalise its team on Friday night.
