GEELONG has made six changes to its 2020 grand final line-up for Saturday’s 2021 season opener against Adelaide.
Newcomers Shaun Higgins and Isaac Smith will pull on the Hoops for the first time at AFL level, with Tom Atkins, Zach Guthrie, Jordan Clark and former Crow Josh Jenkins featuring after missing the loss to Richmond just under five months ago.
Retired pair Gary Ablett and Harry Taylor, injured duo Mitch Duncan (calf) and Sam Simpson (shoulder), and Zach Tuohy and Jack Henry are the outs.
Tuohy, who has had some minor back issues in pre-season, and Henry will both play in the Cats’ VFL practice match against Coburg at Deakin Uni tomorrow.
Henry has been named as an emergency along with Charlie Constable, Quinton Narkle and uncapped small forward Francis Evans.
Constable and Evans both travelled to Adelaide, with one of that pair to be Geelong’s medical substitute, which will be named 60 minutes before the first bounce.
K rock is live from 3pm on FM 95.5 across Geelong and the Surf Coast and via AFL.com.au or the AFL app.
