GEELONG will make at least two changes to its team for Sunday’s clash with Sydney at the SCG, with Zach Tuohy and Gary Rohan both managed by the Cats.
Tuohy has struggled to capture his best form since returning from off-season knee surgery in Round 6, while ex-Swan Rohan has managed just three goals in seven games after kicking 20 in the opening nine rounds.
Zac Smith, Scott Selwood, Quinton Narkle, Lachie Henderson, Sam Simpson and Jack Henry have been included on an extended interchange bench.
The Swans will welcome back Jordan Dawson from suspension as the replacement for the injured Will Hayward, while they named former Cat Dan Menzel on its extended bench along with former captain Kieren Jack, James Rose and Ben Ronke.
Geelong is coming off a 24-point loss to Hawthorn, which coach Chris Scott admits was “boring to watch”.
However, he says playing exciting footy isn’t a priority.
“I think over the course of a long period of time, well and truly before I arrived at Geelong, we have tended to play an attractive style of footy,” Scott said.
“But I don’t think it’s ever been at the expense of giving ourselves the best chance to win.
“I’d probably reference some of the good footy we were playing early in the year when we were well and truly up there in terms of the ladder for points for.
“Was it daring footy? I’m not convinced of that either but I don’t resile from the fact that we were boring to watch and we took some options that weren’t our preference on the weekend.
“I don’t think we’ll be all-out attack this week, but hopefully the viewership will have a better time watching the hoops.”
