Stewart to face Tribunal

GEELONG defender Tom Stewart has been referred straight to the AFL Tribunal for an incident that left Richmond midfielder Dion Prestia concussed in the opening quarter of Saturday night’s clash at the MCG.

The reigning Carji Greeves medalist was reported during the game for rough conduct, with the Match Review Officer assessing Stewart’s conduct as careless, severe impact and high contact.

It was classified as a direct referral to the Tribunal, which means the 29-year-old can’t accept an early guilty plea.

Stewart will face the Tribunal on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, teammate Jeremy Cameron’s 200th game has resulted in a $1000 fine for wrestling Marlion Pickett.

The Tiger has will also cough up $1000 with an early guilty plea.
