AFLW CAT ATTACK PODCAST – AUGUST 12
Geelong’s forward stocks have suffered another blow ahead of Saturday’s AFLW season opener against North Melbourne, with Shelley Scott unlikely to be sighted until the second half of the season.
Already missing Chloe Scheer, who remains listed as indefinite due to a knee injury, the 37-year-old is facing a 6-8 week absence with a calf issue.
“She will now commence a rehab block and is unlikely to feature in the first half of the season,” Cats AFLW boss Dominique Condo said.
Also unable to be considered for selection are draftee Sienna Tallariti and volleyball convert Caitie Tipping.
Both are listed as being 4-6 weeks away, with Tallariti battling an ankle issue and Tipping a knee problem.
“Sienna and Caitie have moved into the next phase of their recoveries and have commenced running programs,” Condo said.
“They are expected to integrate back into the main training group in three weeks’ time.”
In better news, Gabbi Featherston should be right to go after overcoming a hamstring injury.
“Gabbi has progressed well with her rehab program and has returned to full training,” Condo said.
“Pending getting through training this week, she is expected to be available for selection.”
