Tom Hawkins will make a last-ditch bid to be part of Geelong’s AFL premiership push when he lines up in tomorrow’s (Saturday) VFL semi-final against Southport at GMHBA Stadium.
The retiring forward has been named alongside Cam Guthrie for the cutthroat clash, which is expected to draw a significant crowd.
Hawkins has been sidelined since suffering a lisfranc injury in Round 15 against Carlton.
An Achilles issue has kept Guthrie off the field since the Round 10 loss to Gold Coast in Darwin, in his fourth game back from a pre-season quad injury.
It will be his first VFL appearance for Hawkins since July 2011.

Hawkins and Guthrie are among four inclusions for the Cats.
Geelong West midfielder Tanner Lovell and Heidelberg’s Darcy Edmends have been recalled.
They’ve replaced Oisin Mullin (AFL) and Mark O’Connor (injured) and omitted VFL-listed duo Kaelan Bradkte and Kade Chalcraft.
A win for the Cats will set up a meeting with Footscray in a preliminary final.
