Geelong will be without Lawson Humphries for at least next Sunday’s meeting with the GWS Giants after entering the AFL’s concussion protocol.
The classy half-back cleared a head injury assessment following an incident in the second quarter of the Cats’ thrilling three-point win at the MCG.
However, an assessment following the match has resulted in a delayed concussion diagnosis, preventing Humphries from playing for 12 days.
The 22-year-old has played every game since debuting in Round 16 last year and has been a standout with his ball use from defence through the opening third of this season.
Geelong will be forced into two changes, with veteran ruck Rhys Stanley facing a stint on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury in the first quarter.
The Cats will likely have small forward Gryan Miers back from a concussion, while all eyes will be on whether vice-captain Tom Stewart returns from a knee issue.
