Maybe a nice beach private beach escape next time Andy.

Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot were the centre of last weeks mega-viral Coldplay viral. If somehow you’ve missed it. During a Coldplay concert last week the band turned on the jumbotron and broadcast couples enjoying the show together to the big screen, much like a kiss-cam at an American game day. Then the camera turned to Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot who both turned away in shock horror as Chris Martin commented “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,”. If only you knew Chris! It was revealed after that the pair were execs at the Astronomer tech firm and that they were indeed having a secret affair. I can’t imagine being Byron’s wife or kids and that’s how I find out what he was up to on his late night’s at work.

Since the pair have had their affair pointed out to the world certain things have happened. For starters Coldplay’s Chris Martin has started offering concertgoers a friendly “heads up” as they warm up the jumbotron and the cameras. Kristin Cabot, head of human resources at Astronomer has taken personal leave since in the incident and is yet to return to the office.

Most dramatically though is that the Astronomer CEO, Andy Byron, has since resigned from his position with the tech firm. The company itself has also since responded with a public statement after accepting Byron’s resignation:

“As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met…”

The moment has become one of the hottest videos of the year with many institutions mimicking the viral video both on social pages and in live events. Such as the Hawthorn Football Club who recreated the viral clip with their mascots this weekend down at UTAS.
