Australian fans may want to clear their calendars — it looks like the Foo Fighters are gearing up to return Down Under.

Frontier Touring has sparked a frenzy after dropping a teaser on Monday featuring the band’s unmistakable logo alongside the lyric, “Give me a reason, show me a sign,” from their new single Asking For a Friend. The post links to a mysterious countdown page titled “big news incoming,” which is set to expire at 3am AEST on Wednesday.

While nothing has been officially confirmed, the signs strongly point to a full-scale Australian tour announcement.

A New Era for the Foo Fighters

The hint arrives as the band enters a fresh chapter with drummer Ilan Rubin, who joined earlier this year following Josh Freese’s departure. Freese had stepped in after the tragic loss of beloved drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022 — a moment that reshaped the band’s history.

Frontman Dave Grohl recently opened up about the band’s renewed energy since returning to the stage, saying their comeback shows have reminded them “why we love and are forever devoted to doing this Foo Fighters thing.”

Their latest single, Asking For a Friend, appears to reflect that revitalisation. Grohl described it as a track for those who have “waited patiently in the cold,” hinting that even more new material could be on the way.

Fans Hoping for the Band’s First Aussie Run Since 2023

If the speculation proves true, the upcoming tour will be the Foo Fighters’ first visit to Australia since 2023 — a run that Rolling Stone AU/NZ praised as “ferocious, fun, and close to flawless.” Their Melbourne show that year was a powerful reminder of the band’s resilience, marking their first tour without Hawkins and showcasing their ability to create “magic” live once again.

Global Stadium Shows Already Locked In

The band’s international calendar is filling fast. They’ve confirmed a 2026 North American stadium tour kicking off 4 August in Toronto, with stops across major cities including Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Edmonton, and Las Vegas. European dates are also locked in, with two massive nights at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium and additional shows across Scandinavia and mainland Europe.
