A Fresh Take on a Classic Detective
Prime Video has unveiled the first images from Young Sherlock, the upcoming series from filmmaker Guy Ritchie. The show stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin (The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare) as a 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes, long before he becomes the legendary detective Aussies know and love.

A Raw, Unpolished Sherlock
Set in the 1870s, the story follows a young, disgraced Holmes studying at Oxford. When a murder rocks the university, Sherlock is thrown into his very first case. With plenty of talent but almost no discipline, he stumbles into a global-spanning conspiracy that sets him on the path toward his future life on Baker Street.
A Star-Studded Cast
The series brings together an impressive ensemble: Dónal Finn takes on James Moriarty, Zine Tseng appears as Princess Gulun Shou’an. Also joining the cast, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons, and Colin Firth round out the Holmes family and its circle.

Coming to Prime Video in 2026
Showrunner Matthew Parkhill teams up with Ritchie to deliver a high-energy origin story. Young Sherlock is set to hit Prime Video in 2026, and it’s shaping up to be a must-watch for mystery lovers across Australia.
