Extra trains will be running on Friday ahead of the Cats elimination final.
V/Line says it will have a footy special at 3.45, with trains running every ten to 15 minutes after.
Extra trains will also run post game, with extra carriages on scheduled services.
V/Line Chief Operating Officer Sussanah Osborne said extra services will be a major advantage to locals.
“There are plenty of options for Cats and Blues fans to get to the ‘G for Friday night’s knockout final, with trains approximately every 10 to 15 minutes on the Geelong line,” she said.
“Services will be popular as fans head to the game and support their team’s finals campaign, so we encourage passengers to plan their travel in advance.”
V/Line adding extra details about services in a statement.
“A 3.45pm footy special train will run from Geelong station, while extra services are scheduled to depart Wyndham Vale station at 5.21pm and 5.49pm to boost capacity along the line.
“After the game, extra services will depart Southern Cross at 11pm, 11.10pm, 11.20pm and 11.40pm running through to Waurn Ponds. There will also be extra carriages added to the scheduled trains from Southern Cross to Waurn Ponds at 12.15am and 1.15am for fans to get home.
“Passengers can travel between Southern Cross Station and the MCG on a Metro Trains service to either Jolimont or Richmond stations.”
Those using trains are being urged to plan ahead.
