Geelong locals are expected to learn more about the scrapped regional commonwealth games in coming days.
Public hearings – examining the the bidding, cancellation and aftermath of the games – will resume on Friday.
Geelong was initially set to be a key location for the games including hosting the closing ceremony.
Committee chair David Limbrick says they will be looking closely at the promised infrastructure build announced after their cancellation.
“We are seeking further information about the bid and organisation of the games,” he said.
“We’re also paying close attention to the progress of the state government’s $2 billion regional infrastructure and housing build, which was announced in lieu of the event.”
A number of experts on tourism and economics are expected to be called to speak at the hearing.
