Drysdale’s new pool will officially open to the public next month.
The first stage of the North Bellarine Aquatic Centre is now completed, including a 50m outdoor pool, kiosk and all abilities change facilities.
The City of Greater Geelong says swimmers will be able to take to the pool from 6am on November 1.
A free open day will also be held on Sunday, November 5.
Mayor Trent Sullivan said many in the community had been looking to having the aquatic centre in the town.
“I thank the Federal Government for the funding of the first stage and both levels of government, State and Federal, for their support of the upcoming stage two developments,” Cr Sullivan.
“I also encourage everyone to come along to the free event on the Sunday; it’ll be a great opportunity to get together and celebrate this wonderful facility as a community.”
Plans for the second stage have been approved, including featuring indoor facilities, following $20 million in funding commitments from the Victorian and Federal governments.
