Labor has pledged 1500 new police recruits is it is re-elected in November.
The Party has also announced new plans for a new police training facility in Wyndham.
Member for Lara Elle George said it was help boost local safety.
“That’ll be a great opportunity of residents in Geelong who are looking for a career in the police force to get their training close to home,” Ms George said.
“It is so important that Victorians can feel safe in their homes, and when out and about in the community.
“That’s why we plan to recruit more police for our region.”
However it is not known how many of the 1500 recruits will be based in Greater Geelong.
