Viva Energy has provided an update on its Corio refinery following last week’s blaze.
The fire was extinguished late Thursday morning, after a gas leak led to the fire within the Gasoline complex on Wednesday night.
The company says it is still expecting to produce diesel and jet fuel at 80 per cent capacity, while petrol will be produced around 60 per cent.
Viva says some units remain offline while operations are stabilised, but it is assuring customers it has sufficient fuel stocks to cover the reduced production.
It is also expecting to maintain normal fuel supply to customers, while hoping to lift production over coming weeks to more than 90 per cent capacity.
An advice remains in place, with Fire Rescue Victoria crews remaining on scene.
Viva says it will undertake a comprehensive investigation into the cause.
