The Melbourne Renegades have locked in a return to Geelong and confirmed a local signing ahead of BBL 15.

It’ll be the first time the Renegades have played two home games in Geelong since the number of home games per team dropped from seven to five.

Local fans can look forward to games on Monday December 15 and Sunday December 21, both scheduled for 7.15pm starts.

The Renegades will be boosted by the signing of Geelong’s own Ollie Peake, with the news the 18-year old has signed a one-year contract.

He debuted for the team in BBL 14 as a replacement player, going on to earn a full-time contract with Victoria.

“Getting the chance to debut last summer was a great experience, it gave me a taste of cricket at the top T20 level and I’m keen to get stuck in and hopefully play more games,” Peake said.

Peake was recognised as the Australian Cricket Society’s Male Young Cricketer of the Year in 2024, having played at junior national level and for the Geelong Cricket Club in Victorian Premier League Cricket

He said he’s keen to play in front of a home crowd.

“Growing up in Geelong, just around the corner from GMHBA Stadium, the thought of that home ground berth is really motivating and extra exciting,” he said.

The teams set to take on the Gades at Kardinia will be announced later this week when the full BBL 15 fixture is released.

Geelong-specific membership packages will go on sale on Tuesday July 1.
