Bose benefits from big pre-season

Andrew Boseley has credited a full pre-season for his hot start to the 2025 GDFNL season.

The star Anakie forward has kicked 21 goals in the opening four rounds of the season, to sit seven clear of Winchelsea young gun Indi Parish on the league’s goalkicking table.

Boseley’s past fortnight has seen the former Hawthorn-listed 32-year-old produce his two best returns since arriving at the Roos from South Barwon at the start of the last season.

After seven goals in the Round 3 win over Geelong West, Boseley backed that up with six majors in the victory over Winchelsea last week, which moved Anakie into the top five.

“There’s probably two main reasons, I think, why I’m maybe producing a bit more better than what I did last year,” Boseley told K rock Football’s Beyond the Boundary podcast.

I’m not too sure of other players like hearing this, but getting to pre-season from the start and doing a full pre-season most certainly probably put my body in a better nick than what it has been the last couple of years.

“So just a bit of continuity with training and getting out there as well.

“But probably the second part of that as well is the ball movement, and the players we had up the ground, have most certainly got a bit more depth, and I’m pretty fortunate to have some good blokes kicking it down my throat.”
