A coach with an extensive history in the VAFA has been unveiled as Bannockburn’s new leader.

Kyle Pinto has signed with the Tigers on a two-year deal, replacing club legend Ron Pilgrim.

He joins the GDFNL club from Ormond Amateurs, where he spent the past three seasons as coach of the Premier C club, returning it to Premier football this year after finishing runner-up in Division 1 in 2025.

Pinto, 38, also had an impressive playing career in the Amateur competition, featuring in two premierships and serving as playing assistant coach for five seasons with Hampton Rovers.

He also coached Horsham and District club Taylors Lake and played with Hastings on the Mornington Peninsula and at Wimmera League club Minyip-Murtoa.

“His experience across different football environments, combined with his focus on player development, strong team culture and high standards, makes Kyle an exciting addition to lead our Senior Football program,” a statement on Bannockburn’s Facebook page said.

“We look forward to Kyle working closely with our playing group, developing our young talent and building on the strong foundations already established here at the club.”

Pinto also spoke with rival GDFNL club Geelong West before accepting the Bannockburn position.
