GMHBA debut for Falcons Girls

In their eighth season of action, the Geelong Falcons Girls will make their maiden appearance on GMHBA Stadium.

The AFL has confirmed the fixture for the Coates Talent League opening round, with Mel Hickey’s squad to host the GWV Rebels on Easter Thursday, March 28.

With the girls game scheduled for 5 pm, it’s believed the match will be part of a doubleheader with Paul Corrigan’s Boys team.

They start their season the Sunday prior against Dandenong Stingrays at Deakin University.

Newly-appointed Falcons Talent Lead Jesse Drever has welcomed the news.

“It’s just a fantastic opportunity for the girls to play on GMHBA Stadium,” he said.

“It’s the region’s showpiece venue, and they’re looking forward to playing on it.

“It’s the start of the Easter weekend and a chance to see some future stars on display.

“It would be an amazing occasion if the Boys are also scheduled at GMHBA Stadium.”

The entire fixture for the Coatest Talent League season is expected to be released in the coming days.
