South Barwon has locked away senior coach Mark Neeld for a further season.

Already contracted until the end of next year after signing a three-year deal in late 2022, the Swans have revealed that Neeld will remain in charge at McDonald Reserve until at least the end of 2026.

The former Melbourne AFL coach took South Barwon to its first grand final in ten years in his first season before falling to a rampant Leopold outfit.

The Swans are well-placed for another September appearance, improving to a 6-3 win-loss record after holding off fellow finalists aspirants Bell Park by 27 points yesterday (Saturday).

South has also trumpeted the re-signing of captain and reigning joint-Mathieson medallist Matt Caldow until the end of 2026.

Vice-captain Todd White, who has made six VFL appearances with Geelong this year, and the reliable Kelly O”Neil have put pen to paper for 2025.

More to come
