North Shore defender Cam Primmer will spend two matches on the sidelines after admitting to making a homophobic slur towards a Colac opponent during Saturday’s loss at Central Reserve.

AFL Barwon’s Match Review Panel offered the Seagull a two-week suspension with an early guilty plea for an incident labelled Insulting Language – Serious Misconduct late in the third quarter in which Primmer received a red card.

Primmer and North Shore this (Tuesday) morning accepted the ban.

K rock Football is aware of the player who was the target of Primmer’s comment and the language used but has chosen not to identify them or the term.

He will miss this week’s Ron Sells Cup meeting with Geelong West and the clash with South Barwon following next week’s bye.

Primmer wasn’t the lone Seagull to attract the MRP’s attention.

Bryce Smith, who joined North Shore from Bell Park in the off-season, has accepted a one-week holiday for striking Colac youngster Cooper Hayes, also in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, five other incidents were assessed by the Match Review Panel.

In the GFNL, St Joseph’s gun Harry Smith was looked at for contact off the ball on Bell Park captain Lachie Patten in the last quarter of Joeys’ big win over the Dragons, with a downfield free kick deemed sufficient.

St Mary’s Dion Johnstone was cleared of a dangerous tackle on South Barwon’s Blair Huggins in the final term of the Saints’ victory at Anthony Costa Oval, which earned the Swans recruit a free kick.

In the GDFNL, a jumper punch by Werribee Centrals’ Josh McDonald on Bannockburn’s Jaxon Elzinga was deemed to be of insufficient force.

Inverleigh’s Michael Grozdanovski was cleared of a dangerous tackle on Corio’s Brock Cervenka in the final term of the draw at Shell Reserve, with a free kick paid.

And North Geelong’s Jacsen Jewell was cleared of striking Thomson’s Mitch Hodgson during the third quarter of the Magpies’one-point win at Godfrey Street.
