Netwown & Chilwell will be without gun winger Logan Morey for at least the remainder of the home-and-away season after coming off second best in a marking contest.
Morey was forced from Jardon Oval late in the third quarter of the Towners’ 202-point hiding of North Shore after flying for a mark at the front of a pack on the southern wing.
Newtown & Chilwell officials have confirmed Morey, who joined the club ahead of the 2025 season after playing under coach Steve Johnson with Ovens and Murray outfit Yarrawonga, suffered three fractured vertebrae.
He will be unable to run for a month, leaving him unlikely to play until the Eagles’ final campaign gets underway in early September.
Morey is considered above average in 10 of Premier’Data’s 19 categories, including disposals (17.6), score involvements (4.9) and intercept possessions (4.1).
Newtown & Chilwell sits second on the GFNL ladder with a 10-3 win-loss record ahead of a meeting with Grovedale this week.
