Souflas rises to the top in Allthorpe count

Newtown & Chilwell’s Alex Souflas has taken out the Jim & Bill Allthorpe Medal as GFNL reserves best-and-fairest.

The Eagles big man, who tied for eighth last year, polled 20 votes, four clear of South Barwon’s Harry Cunningham on 16.

Cunningham’s Swans teammate Charlie Meadows finished in a tie for third with Bell Park’s Damon Schroeder on 15.

Leopold youngster Anthony Tanner rounded out the top five on 12 votes.

Souflas, who made two senior appearances, in rounds 15 and 16, polled in nine matches, including four best-on-ground performances.
