St Albans has further strengthened its Ocean Grove connection after signing talented youngster Jack Thomson.

Thomson joins the likes of Sam Donegan, Fletcher and Miller Keck and Jack Stephenson in venturing up the Bellarine Highway to St Albans Reserve in recent years.

“A dangerous small forward with genuine speed, skill and goal sense, Jack brings plenty of X-factor to our attacking half,” the Supersaints said on Facebook when announcing his signing.

“His ability to hit the scoreboard, create opportunities and push into the midfield makes him an exciting addition to our senior lineup.

“With enormous upside and plenty of development ahead of him, Jack is another exciting young talent joining our emerging group as we continue building towards 2027.”

Thomson is one of several signings announced by St Albans, with Jedd White (Karratha), Cooper Ellis (Parkside) and the returning Harley Cobb (North Warrnambool) already confirmed.

Meanwhile, Newtown & Chilwell has confirmed the return of key defender Kane Reid from Woorinen in the Central Murray League.

Reid has spent the past two years playing in the state’s north.

His return looms as another handy addition for the Towners, who have welcomed back Wil O’Dwyer from Imperial in the Sunraysia league and added Jarrod Brander (Wentworth), Brady Hall (Colac) and Eddie Weeks (Surf Coast).

The Seagulls have added the experienced Nick Ingleton from Essendon and District outfit Strathmore and Bailey McKmmie from Central Highlands club Skipton.

Ingleton featured in two premierships among his 119 senior appearances at Strathmore.

“A natural leader both on and off the field, Nick’s experience, professionalism and knowledge of what it takes to achieve success will be a massive addition to our playing group,” the Seagulls said in a Facebook post.

“His height, fitness and versatility will also be huge assets, giving us plenty of options across the ground.”

From northeast Victoria, McKimmie joined Skipton in 2021, where he kicked 118 goals from 55 matches.

“Known for his strength in the contest, one-grab marking and elite accuracy, we cannot wait to see him pull on the Barwon Heads jumper.”

Meanwhile, the Warriors have added the imposing figure of ruck Liam Read.
