Jack Bowes is officially a Geelong player, with the Cats securing a trade for the Gold Coast midfielder, along with the No.7 draft pick as part of the Suns’ salary dump.
The 24-year-old has signed a four-year deal with Geelong, after announcing Kardinia Park as his preferred destination following Gold Coast’s decision to offload him.
Bowes has two years remaining on his heavily back-ended five-year contract, with the Suns now freeing up much-needed cap space.
Gold Coast received a future third-round selection in return in the trade.
“Jack’s signature is exciting news for the Club, we had identified Jack as a player of interest for some time and we’re extremely happy to add him to our playing squad,” Geelong list manager Andrew Mackie said.
“He is a quality person of great character and we know Jack will be a great fit for our Club.
“Thank you to Craig Cameron and the Suns for the diligent and respectful conversations in working through this trade.”
