Geelong has named an unchanged team for tomorrow night’s preliminary final against Hawthorn, despite veteran ruck Rhys Stanley being passed fit to return from a hamstring issue.
The 34-year-old missed the qualifying final win over the Brisbane Lions after suffering the injury at training earlier that week.
“We’ve been so impressed with the progress he’s made,” coach Chris Scott said earlier today (Thursday).
“So I think the short answer is that we could play him tomorrow night, and now we’re just weighing up whether we should.”
Joining Stanley as emergencies are experienced defender Jed Bews and Ollie Henry.
The Hawks, who have won their way into a meeting with the Cats after consecutive interstate wins over the GWS Giants and Adelaide, are also unchanged.
