Geelong will welcome back Bailey Smith to strengthen its midfield ahead of Saturday’s twilight clash with the GWS Giants at Engie Stadium.
Tyson Stengle, who missed last week’s win over Richmond for family reasons, is an emergency as the Cats make their first trek to the venue since March 2020.
Smith replaces Mitch Duncan, who underwent surgery today (Thursday) on an AC joint injury suffered in the VFL on Sunday, in the 23 that hammered the Tigers by 72 points.
Veteran defender Jed Bews and midfielder Mitch Knevitt are Geelong’s other emergencies.
The Giants will welcome back Lachie Whitfield for his 250th game and spearhead Jesse Hogan at the expense of James Leake and Max Gruzewski.
