Geelong expects Sam De Koning to be right for its first final following minor surgery on a knee injury last week.
The key defender hasn’t played since the Round 21 win over Adelaide at GMHBA Stadium.
“Sam will need another week to rehab his knee following his minor procedure last week,” assistant football boss Brett Johnson said.
“He will join the main group next week and will be available for selection the week after.”

Geelong’s injury report has also listed retiring forward Tom Hawkins as being one week away, giving rise to hope he could play a role in the Cats’ finals campaign.
After being sidelined last week as part of the AFL’s concussion protocol, young midfielder Tanner Bruhn is a test ahead of a potential return for the final-round clash with West Coast.
Ted Clohesy is also a test, but his return to action will likely be in the VFL qualifying final against Werribee next week.
Premiership duo Cam Guthrie (Achilles) and Mark O’Connor (knee) remain as “TBC”, along with rookie defender Oscar Murdoch, who suffered a concussion in the VFL win over Sandringham.
