Fresh off a career-best performance, Geelong forward Oli Wiltshire has confirmed he has signed a one-year contract extension.

When asked on K rock Football’s Best of Barwon coverage, ahead of the Bellarine league clash between his home club, Barwon Heads, and archrivals Ocean Grove, about his status for 2027, the 23-year-old said he had agreed to another year at GMHBA Stadium.

“I re-signed… three weeks ago,” Wiltshire said.

“I actually signed the document maybe last week… ready to go again next year.

Drafted by the Cats from the Seagulls with pick 61 in the National Draft, Wiltshire made his AFL debut last year, with Friday night’s win over Gold Coast his eighth appearance at AFL level, six of which have come this year.

He kicked a career-high three goals against the Suns, including a long set shot from outside 50m in the third quarter that got the crowd of 30,000 on their feet.

“It’s just one of those ones (where) you go back, go through your routine, and I was lucky enough to flush it,” he said.

“But on the flip side, if you don’t kick the goal, you’ve got big Jez Cameron and Scratchy Neal probably screaming at you for not giving it to them if you miss.

“But, it was good just to go back, go through the routine, and put it through.”

Wiltshire isn’t the only young Geelong forward who will remain at the club, with football boss Andrew Mackie revealing on K rock Football before the win over Sydney last month that Jay Polkinghorne has also agreed to terms to remain with the club.
