GEELONG has named Patrick Dangerfield for Saturday’s crucial clash with Port Adelaide at GMHBA Stadium despite the star midfielder battling illness throughout the week.
The Cats have confirmed to krockfootball.com.au that Dangerfield’s symptoms have been flu-like and not COVID-19 related.
“He’s improved significantly over the last couple of days,” football boss Simon Lloyd said.
The Cats have confirmed Jed Bews’ return from a second concussion and the inclusion of Gary Rohan for his first AFL appearance of the season after battling a back issue.
Gryan Miers has been listed as managed and is among Geelong’s emergencies. Fellow Grovedale product Mitch Knevitt has been dropped and is also in contention to be the Cats’ medi-sub.
