GEELONG coach Chris Scott has announced two Cats will pull on the hoops at AFL level for the first time on Thursday night against Carlton at the MCG.
Young midfielder Cooper Whyte will be making his AFL debut, while former Gold Coast Sun Jack Bowes will get his chance after missing through injury last week.
“It’s really exciting for us this week, we’ll have a couple of players play their first game for the Cats,” Scott said.
“Cooper Whyte will come in as a young player making his AFL debut and Jack Bowes will play as well.
“So they’re the ins, and (Tom) Stewart is the out.
“We’re not ready to communicate the other out at the moment, in any case, I’d rather focus on the exciting part”
Scott indicated ahead of last weeks loss to Collingwood that Bowes would make his way into the side for Round 2, following 83 games with the Suns.
The 25-year-old was battling a minor calf complaint.
Whyte gets his chance in his second season at the club, after being taken at pick 64 in the 2021 NAB AFL Draft, one of three Geelong Falcons products picked up by the Cats that year.
