Dangerous drivers targeted in North Geelong

Five fines have been handed out during a police operation focussing on dangerous driving.

The operation on Monday saw the Public Order Response Team and Geelong Highway Patrol working together, targeting the North Geelong area.

They conducted 468 breath tests.

Most of the fines related to traffic offences including unlicensed driving and unregistered cars.

Three defect notices were also issued.

Acting Sergeant Matt Nauta said they continue to see drivers make poor choices.

“This operation was all about putting dangerous drivers on notice and bolstering community safety in Greater Geelong,” he said.

“Police will continue to be out in force and run these targeted operations to reduce road trauma and keep the community safe.”
