Victoria has recorded a drop in crime, with figures showing offences were slightly down in the last year.
Data from the Crime Statistics Agency shows a fall of 0.2 per cent in the 12-months to March.
However, Greater Geelong has recorded an increase in offences of 2.6 per cent, with a rise in family violence breaches and retail theft.
There has been a 0.2 per cent rise within Surf Coast, also noting reports of theft from cars and criminal damage.
Across Victoria, bail breaches are up, but Police Minister Anthony Carbines said it showed the judiciary was getting the message.
“With bail revocations up and bail refusals up, the message is becoming clear that community expects consequences for those who commit crimes,” he said.
“And for those who repeat those crimes.”
