Drysdale has confirmed the departure of star Lauchie Dalgleish after 61 games in four seasons at Mortimer Oval.
Dalgleish, who played three AFL games with Essendon, has taken a coaching position with Footscray VFL, where he was a premiership player in 2016.
He will play in the Ballarat League with the Ballarat Swans when his duties at the Bulldogs allow.
“Dal has a coaching role with Footscray VFL and could only commit to a handful of games,” coach Ben Carmichael said.
“He’s been a great player for our club, and we wish him all the best.”
Meanwhile, Barwon Heads have been locking away key players and talented youngsters for next year.
Reigning Ash medallist Luke Davis, premiership trio Brock Close, Charlie Brauer and Lachie Wilson, 2023 recruits Charlie Perks and James Syddall, who failed to play a game for the Seagulls, and youngsters Luca Vella and Jye Bartley.
However, they have farewelled East Geelong-bound Ned Aulsebrook, Jayden McLauchlan and Connor McKinnon, with Aulsebrook to start his coaching journey with the GDFNL Eagles.
