On the eve of Torquay’s sixth grand final under Dom Gleeson, the master coach has again been recognised as coach of the Bellarine Team of the Year.
It is the sixth time in Gleeson’s nine seasons in charge that he has been recognised, following nods in 2015, 2017, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Reflecting the evenness of the competition, finalists Drysdale and Modewarre had the most representatives, with four apiece.
Grand finalists Anglesea and Torquay each had three players selected, with Tigers co-captain Ben McNamara named skipper of the team.
The team features 12 first-timers and just four returnees from last year.
Modewarre great Josh Finch has been selected for the eighth time – and first since 2018.
Drysdale forward James Breust and Torquay co-captain Ben McNamara earned their fourth consecutive selection.
Barwon Heads co-captain Kyle Polley made it a hat-trick.
Ocean Grove and Queenscliff were the only two teams without a representative.
