Coughlan, who also captained VFL club Werribee, replaces the departed Riley Kershaw and will share the role with star forward Sam Lloyd.

The 30-year-old, who K rock Football understands will be in a non-playing capacity, spent this year with GFNL club Netwown & Chilwell as an assistant coach.

Plagued by injury late in his VFL career, which cost him the chance to captain the Tigers to their drought-breaking 2024 premiership, Coughlan returned to the field and made a senior appearance for the Eagles in the second half of the season.
